Golden Hour Strings Concert Spring2026

The golden hour of the day is when the fading light creates a special glow, the day is over and tomorrow holds the promise of something new. Golden Hour centres around composers of the late 19th century, in a world caught between Romanticism and the modern era on the horizon. Many of the works you will hear performed represent a bridge between eras, showcasing the refined elegance of the Romantic tradition alongside the bold new ideas of a dawning musical age. Central Memorial's ensembles bring this theme to life across every level of our program, from our newest string players to our most senior orchestra. Whether you are hearing a beloved film theme or a symphonic masterwork, we invite you to listen for those moments where the familiar and the new meet.

Featuring: PVA Strings, PVA Brass Quintet, Golden Strings, and Central Sinfonia

With works by: Edvard Grieg, John Williams, Gustav Mahler, Dmitri Shostakovich, George Gershwin, and more.
