The Ram Reminder | October 19 - 23, 2026

Although it was a shorter week, there was certainly no shortage of excitement, achievement, and reasons to celebrate at Central Memorial High School! From volleyball, football, and soccer to our cross-country runners qualifying for and competing at provincials, our Rams continue to demonstrate the dedication, resilience, and passion that make our school community so special.

Senior Football Win! Team Town Player!

A special congratulations goes to Rylan, who was named TeamTown Player of the Week! In an outstanding performance during a huge win for our senior football team, Rylan recorded 45 yards rushing, two tackles for loss, six solo tackles, four assisted tackles, two quarterback pressures, and a pick-six. What an incredible contribution to the team's success! We are proud to celebrate Rylan and the hard work, commitment, and teamwork demonstrated by our student athletes.

Student Teachers

This week, we also received some wonderful feedback from University of Calgary student teachers who are completing their first practicum experience at Central. They shared how impressed they were with the brilliance of our staff, the quality of academic learning, and the level of student engagement they witnessed across both buildings. They described Central as a truly special place, highlighting the welcoming atmosphere, the richness of our diversity, and the incredible range of talent and opportunities available to our students. They expressed genuine gratitude for the opportunity to learn alongside our educators and to be part of such an amazing school community. Their words were a powerful reminder of what makes Central unique.

CMHS Is a Special Place

As this is the sixth high school where I have had the privilege of working, I can confidently say that these sentiments ring true. Central Memorial is a special place because of the people who bring it to life every day. Our students, staff, families, and community partners contribute to a school where young people can pursue their passions, discover their strengths, and build meaningful connections. We deeply care about the well-being of both our students and our staff, recognizing that learning and well-being are inseparable.

Respect, Kindness, Encouragement, and Compassion

How we treat one another matters. The respect, kindness, encouragement, and compassion we demonstrate in our daily interactions shape not only individual well-being but also the kind of society and world we create together. As educators, one of our greatest responsibilities is to help young people discover their purpose, develop their potential, and find fulfillment through meaningful contributions to human and social life. We want our Rams to leave Central not only prepared for their next steps, but also ready to make a positive difference in their communities and beyond.

It is well to think well. It is divine to act well.

Horace Mann reminds us, "It is well to think well. It is divine to act well." At Central, we have the opportunity every day to put our values into action through how we learn, how we lead, and how we care for one another.

Thank you for being part of a school community where talent is celebrated, opportunities abound, and relationships matter. Together, we continue to make Central Memorial High School a place where people feel welcomed, valued, supported, and inspired to thrive.

Go Rams!
