Good Evening CMHS Parents, Caregivers, Students, and Guardians,

As we approach the end of another school year, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all of our students for the respectful behaviour, positive attitude, and care they have demonstrated throughout these final weeks. The energy in the building remains focused and supportive, and it has been wonderful to see students finishing the year with such pride and determination.

A special congratulations goes to our Grade 12 students. Once again, they have demonstrated the character, leadership, and maturity that make us so proud of the young adults they are becoming. As final exams and diploma exams are fully underway, we hope that every student is able to finish the year on both an academic and personal high, reflecting on their growth and accomplishments over the past ten months.

While the day technically does not have any more hours when the sun stays out longer, June certainly gives us plenty of reasons to make use of that extended daylight. It is a time for celebration, reflection, and gratitude as we look back on a year filled with learning, achievements, friendships, and memorable experiences.

It is not very often that a principal receives an email from a student at another school simply to offer praise for a school community. Recently, however, I received the following message after one of our rugby matches:

Dear Principal Kromm,

"I wanted to reach out following our recent rugby match to share how impressed I was with your school community.

After the game, I found myself carrying a large amount of equipment back to my car in the pouring rain. I was genuinely surprised by how many parents immediately offered to help. Their kindness and willingness to assist someone they had never met left a lasting impression on me.

It was wonderful to see such generosity and community spirit. The parents, students, and supporters I encountered were incredibly welcoming and considerate, and it speaks highly of the culture your school has built. It is clear that your school fosters not only great students but also a strong and caring community.

Thank you for creating an environment that encourages kindness and respect. It was a pleasure to experience firsthand."

Reading this email filled me with pride. It serves as a reminder that the culture of a school is built not only within its classrooms, but through the everyday actions of students, staff, parents, guardians, coaches, and supporters. Small acts of kindness and generosity leave lasting impressions and reflect the values we strive to live every day.

Thank you to all of you for being such incredible role models for our students. It is because of the adults in this community that we have such wonderful young people. Together, you continue to demonstrate what it means to be respectful, caring, and community-minded, and our students are better because of it.

As we finish the year, thank you for your continued partnership, support, and commitment to making our school community such a special place.

Enjoy your weekend.
Anne Kromm, Principal
