Good Evening Parents, Caregivers, Students and Guardians,
When most people think of school, their minds naturally go to teachers—and understandably so. Teachers are often the front-line faces of education, guiding students through their learning every day. But behind every great classroom and successful school is an incredible team of individuals whose work often goes unseen yet is absolutely essential.
This past week, April 21 to 25, was Support Staff Appreciation Week, and I want to take this opportunity to shine a bright, well-deserved spotlight on some of the most vital members of our Central Memorial High School family.
Our support staff are the heart and soul of our school. From the instructors in our culinary, autobody, mechanics, cosmetology, and EEI programs, to our science technologist, education assistants, IT expert, Learning Commons facilitator, lunch supervisors, behaviour support worker, receptionists, secretaries, administrative assistants, and business manager—their work makes a profound difference every single day.
Our Support Staff are the hidden heroes—working behind the scenes and on the front lines to ensure our school runs smoothly and our students are cared for, supported, and seen. They help create a school environment where learning can flourish and where everyone feels valued and safe.
As principal, I see daily the impact of the work our Support Staff does. They make the lives of both our teachers and administrative team so much easier, and their commitment allows us to do our jobs more effectively. Central Memorial wouldn’t be the same without each of them—and we wouldn’t want it to be.
With heartfelt gratitude, Anne Kromm
Principal
