Good Evening CMHS Parents, Caregivers, Students and Guardians,

We are always grateful for the opportunity to highlight the incredible work happening at CMHS. Our school continues to be invited to host media events that shine a light on the exceptional learning experiences created by our staff and students, and we are proud to share this work with our broader community.

This past Monday, we were honoured to host the Suncor and CBE Media Event, which many of you may have seen on local news. These events give Calgarians and neighbouring communities a valuable look inside our classrooms and suites where students are engaged, creating, problem-solving, and developing the skills they need to become contributing members of society.

Suncor has generously donated $260,000 through their Energizing Youth initiative to EducationMatters, directly impacting CBE and especially CMHS students. Their investment will support several important programs during the 2025–2026 school year, including:

  • Dual Credit and Exploratory Programs for equity-deserving youth.
  • Provincial and National Skills Competitions for CBE students representing Calgary in 2026.
  • The 2025 & 2026 Backpack & Essentials Campaign, providing learning essentials for K–12 students.

We are fortunate at CMHS to offer a wide range of educational pathways that encourage students to explore their interests and pursue their passions. During Monday’s event, several of our specialized learning environments were highlighted, including: 2D Design, 3D Design and Photography, Auto Body Repair Painting, CAD, Mechanical Engineering, Culinary & Baking, Esthetics/Cosmetology, and Welding.

At CMHS, we remain committed to personalizing the learning experience for each student, so they feel engaged, inspired, and supported in reaching their full potential. We are proud to be part of the Calgary Board of Education, a leader in public education, and we are continually inspired by our students and the outstanding results they achieve.

As we move through the school year, I am reminded daily of how fortunate we are to work with such talented students and dedicated staff. The energy, creativity, and commitment within our buildings are truly exceptional, and it is a privilege to share these moments of excellence with our community. Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. Our parents and guardians play an essential role in helping our students grow, thrive, and shine.
