Dear Parents, Guardians, Caregivers, and Students
As we approach the Winter Break, I want to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a wonderful holiday season. This is a time to relax, reflect, and connect with loved ones—a pause in the year to savor moments of togetherness and create lasting memories.
For many in our community, this season includes the celebration of Christmas. Christmas has always held a special place in my heart, rooted in traditions that continue to bring joy and meaning to my family. One of those traditions is the gift of a book. Each year, we exchange books as a reminder of the value of stories, knowledge, and the doors that literacy opens. My parents were both big readers, and our house was always filled with books.
The ability to read is not just a skill but a lifelong gift—one that enriches our minds, nurtures our creativity, and empowers us to keep learning throughout our lives. Literacy is a cornerstone of education and personal growth, offering opportunities to explore the world, share perspectives, and shape brighter futures.
As we celebrate this season, I encourage you to take time to read together as a family, whether it’s sharing a favourite holiday story, exploring a new book, or simply enjoying quiet moments with a good read. These small moments foster not only literacy but also connection—a gift that truly keeps on giving.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for supporting your children’s learning journey. On behalf of everyone at Central Memorial High School, I wish you a restful and joyful Winter Break filled with peace, love, and the magic of the season.
Warm regards,
Anne Kromm Principal
