Good Evening Parents, Caregivers, Students and Guardians,

As we approach the final weeks of the school year, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the hard work, dedication, and perseverance our students have demonstrated throughout the year. The end of the school year is a time to reflect on accomplishments, celebrate successes, and finish strong, both academically and in character.

To that end, I want to remind all students of our expectations regarding behaviour. It is imperative that students remain focused on their learning and continue to attend all scheduled classes. Attendance and engagement are crucial right up to the final day of school.

We are especially mindful of our graduating class. Graduation is a milestone worth celebrating, and we are so proud of the Class of 2025 for reaching this significant achievement. Last year’s Grade 12s set a powerful example by concluding their time at CMHS with maturity, grace, and respect. Their positive choices left a lasting impact on our school community and allowed all of us (students, staff, and families) to share in their joy and success.

Unfortunately, grad pranks, no matter how well-intentioned, can overshadow these celebrations and create unnecessary disruption and disappointment. Such actions are not in line with the values of our school. Grad pranks will not be tolerated, and students involved will face appropriate consequences. These types of actions can tarnish the positive legacy our students have worked so hard to build.

To the parents and guardians of our graduates, I ask you to take a few moments to speak with your child about the importance of maintaining respectful and responsible behaviour during these final days. One poor decision can quickly diminish the pride and admiration that students have rightfully earned throughout their high school years.

At CMHS, we hold our students to high standards, none higher than those we set for our graduating class. Let’s work together to ensure this final chapter is filled with the honour, celebration, and pride our grads deserve.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Have a wonderful weekend!

Anne Kromm
