Dear Parents, Guardians, Caregivers, and Students,

It was wonderful to see our returning parents and meet some new parents during Tuesday evening's School Council meeting. The administration appreciates the opportunity to engage with our parents and are thankful for your ongoing support, especially regarding the Personal Mobile Device restrictions legislated by the Government of Alberta. Parent feedback at the School Council confirmed once again how valued these restrictions are within our school community.

The administration also wants to acknowledge our School Council's reorganization and welcome all new members as well as express our gratitude to Jim, our outgoing School Council secretary, for his years of dedication. Jim is a wonderful example of the care and commitment our parents show towards all of our students. It truly takes a village. We will miss him dearly. Looking forward, the administration is excited to

continue working alongside our School Council members this year. Their input and collaboration are vital as we work together to enhance student learning and well‐being.

School Councils are an essential bridge between the school and the community, focusing on what is best for all students. They help us consider the interests of all stakeholders, maintain our school culture, and ensure that the parent voice is represented in important discussions. The role parents play in student success cannot be overstated, and School Councils provide a wonderful avenue for participation in decisions that directly impact student learning.

For your reference, here are the upcoming School Council meeting dates for the year:

  • October 8, 2024
  • November 5, 2024
  • January 14, 2025
  • February 11, 2025
  • April 8, 2025
  • May 13, 2025

The administration and the entire staff enjoy our time with parents/guardians, sharing the great work happening in both of our buildings and celebrating our students' accomplishments (and there are many). We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.

Have a wonderful weekend.
