The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) is excited to welcome students living in the Taza Park community. Taza Park is a new community located in Tsuut’ina Nation, bordering Calgary’s southwest city limits. The area is expected to be developed over the next 20+ years.
Although the community falls outside of current CBE boundaries, Alberta Education and Childcare has asked the CBE to designate students living in Taza Park to CBE schools.
The following notice outlines school designations and transportation options.
What are the school designations for Taza Park?
The CBE has selected three regular program schools within reasonable distance to designate future students living in Taza Park. Based on the projected growth of the area, these schools are expected to have space to welcome these students over the next several years.
Students residing in Taza Park are considered non-resident students under the CBE AR-6090: Child and Student Registration and Admission, and have been granted an exception by the CBE, as directed by the Government of Alberta, to be designated to select CBE schools. These schools are outlined below.

^ Programs with a caret (^) are expected to be in closed status for the 2026-27 school year. Schools’ statuses are subject to change. For information regarding alternative program registration, or designations to CBE programming opportunities, visit Program Options.
Note: Indigenous students living in the Taza Park development who are registered Tsuut’ina Nation citizens or community members are considered resident to the CBE and may attend any regular or alternative program school at the CBE upon first registration to a CBE school.
What are the transportation options?
The CBE requires maintained roads, clear of obstructions for safe driving, as well as loading and unloading of students. New and emerging communities are regularly assessed for their suitability for transportation services. Once there is a safe path and stop location, the CBE will review adding yellow school bus stops within the Taza Park development for regular program students.
The CBE provides yellow school bus transportation to students who:
- Attend their designated school, and
- Live beyond the school walk zone, and
- Are assigned to general transportation.
Registration is required for all students needing transportation to CBE designated schools. At this time, yellow bus transportation for regular program students will be offered with a single bus stop expected at Grey Eagle.
Calgary Transit is a partner for providing some of the busing for middle school and high schools. As Taza Park is not currently serviced by Calgary Transit, the CBE will provide temporary yellow school bus service to support regular program students who would normally be assigned to Calgary Transit.
Students registered for alternative programing, may be designated to general transportation under the congregated bus stop model or to Calgary Transit. A congregated bus stop may be beyond reasonable walking distance from a student’s home and families may need to arrange transportation to and from the stop.
Visit Busing & Transportation for information regarding transportation services, fees and walk zones.
What if I have more questions?
